"Decentralize or Die"

Created during my time in Mar Vista on LA's west side, this piece reimagines the iconic "Join or Die" flag through the lens of early crypto culture and the decentralization movements of 2017. Built on a foundation of vintage comic book pages sourced from Sideshow Books, the work combines collage, bold acrylic lettering, and a glossy epoxy finish. Techniques that defined my practice during this period.
The materials came together through regular visits to Artist & Craftsman in Mid-City, where I gathered supplies, and Sideshow Books, where I discovered the pulp ephemera that would become the textured backdrop for this series. While I've since evolved away from epoxy finishes, this piece captures a specific moment in both my artistic development and the broader cultural conversation around technology, autonomy, and power.
