"Anarchy in the UK"
Mixed Media, Acrylic, Epoxy | 2018
A tribute to the Sex Pistols and the raw energy of British punk, this piece incorporates pages from books documenting the band's explosive impact on music and culture. The collaged foundation reflects my family's East London roots (my father's side from the Isle of Dogs) and the creative energy I absorbed during visits to Brick Lane and Shoreditch, neighborhoods where punk's rebellious spirit still echoes through the streets.
The work captures both personal heritage and cultural history, connecting the working-class defiance that fueled the punk movement to the neighborhoods and family stories that shaped my own perspective. It's a visual conversation between generations and geographies, layered in the same DIY aesthetic that defined the movement itself.
