Snake Eyes Diptych: Andromeda & Sagittarius A #5 & #6

"Andromeda & Sagittarius A" (Diptych)
Mixed Media, Acrylic, Epoxy | 2018

This diptych pays homage to the vast nothingness and overwhelming majesty of space; two celestial bodies representing the incomprehensible scale of the cosmos. Beneath layers of dripped and gestural paint lies a foundation of pages from Stephen Hawking's A Brief History of Time and various texts on aliens and UFOs, creating a substrate of human curiosity and scientific wonder.

The work draws inspiration from physicist Kip Thorne and Christopher Nolan's Interstellar, both of which grapple with humanity's place in an indifferent universe and our drive to push beyond known boundaries. The piece ultimately becomes a statement of defiance: in spite of impossible odds, isolation, and the cold vastness surrounding us, we must continue the human experiment. Exploring, questioning, and reaching toward the unknown.
